Peter Daut Biography
Peter Daut is an American journalist, he is currently working as a weekend anchor for KESQ-TV in Palm Springs. He is a multi-Emmy-Award-winning journalist, prior to joining KESQ-TV he worked at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Daut has won multiple Emmy Awards, and has reported and anchored in some of the biggest markets in the country. The Pulse nightclub shooting-massacre in Orlando, Florida, was one of the biggest stories he covered while working at KCBS/KCAL-TV in Los Angeles. He visited Denver, Colorado to look at the legalization of recreational marijuana, Carson City, Nevada to cover the parole hearing for O.J. Simpson, and New York City to cover the 2016 presidential election.
He oversaw live coverage of the tragic Trader Joe’s standoff, the Thousand Oaks shooting, and the disastrous Woolsey fire in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. He got an Emmy Award in the Individual Achievement category in 2016 for a compilation of his work.
Additionally, he made a guest appearance on the widely broadcast program “The Talk.” At WSOC-TV in Charlotte earlier in his career, Daut worked as an investigative reporter and morning anchor. While in the Queen City, he investigated and covered a variety of consumer and taxpayer-related concerns as well as served as the convention’s anchor. In addition, for his in-depth articles on a cosmetic surgery facility, he was given the national Journalistic Achievement Award by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Daut also worked for KDFW-TV in Dallas, where he reported on the Fort Hood shooting massacre and received an Emmy for his work there. He covered the Super Bowl, tornadoes, and wildfires when he was in Dallas.
At El Paso’s KFOX-TV, he started his broadcasting career.
