In 2000, Phill developed hearing loss in his left ear, two years later he had recovered most of his hearing. Collins had surgery (2009) to repair dislocated vertebrae in his upper neck which resulted in him losing the feeling in his finger and could only grip drum sticks f they were taped to his hand. Phill(2010) fell into depression and he said he had contemplated suicide. (2015)Phill underwent a spine operation. Phill said he was a type 2 diabetic(2017). Collins began to use a cane to assist to walk.
