Ruthie Polinsky is an American journalist, she currently works as a sports anchor on NBC 6 weekend evening. She joined NBC 6 in 2020 as a sports anchor. Polinsky is an Emmy Award nominated sportscaster she received the National Sports Media Association’s “Rhode Island Sportscaster of the Year” award.

For three years at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island, Polinsky worked as a sports anchor and reporter before joining NBC 6.
She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Drama from the University of Michigan in 2015. She came to the realization that she could combine her passion for sports and her love of storytelling and performance there.
After earning her degree, Polinsky started working as a broadcaster at KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas. Before moving to WPRI, she worked as a Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter for two years. Polinsky was able to cover two Super Bowls, a World Series, and a Stanley Cup Final while working in New England. He was also able to follow two college basketball teams to the NCAA Tournament.
The “Rhode Island Sportscaster of the Year” honor from the National Sports Media Association was given to Polinsky in 2019. She was nominated for a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences award the same year for her feature piece on Sierra Martinez, a 15-year-old female boxer.
