Sunny Hostin is an American lawyer, journalist and author, she is known for working on The View as a co-host and also a senior legal correspondent for ABC News.

Hostin started her legal career working for retiring Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals Robert M. Bell. She eventually moved on to the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice as a trial lawyer. Hostin departed the Antitrust Division to work as a child sex crimes prosecutor for the federal government. A Special Achievement Award was given to Hostin for her successful prosecution of sex offenders.
She also held the position of Managing Director of Business Intelligence and Investigations at Kroll Inc., the top risk consulting firm in the world, where she oversaw teams of investigators working across the globe to look into and find fraud.
She started her television career as an analyst for Court TV before being hired for a position on the Fox News program The O’Reilly Factor, where she frequently debated with Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly in the program’s “Is It Legal?” segments. She was hired by CNN President Jon Klein in September 2007 to serve as the legal analyst for the network’s premier morning program, American Morning.
Hostin started making frequent guest appearances on the ABC daytime talk show The View in 2014. She participated in the Mother’s Day episode of Food Network’s Chopped in 2014 as well. Hostin took part in a TEDx Talk in 2015 called A Possibility Model, which describes the impact of a childhood trauma. Hostin’s hiring with ABC News as a senior legal correspondent and analyst was announced in March 2016. Beginning with the twentieth season of The View in September 2016, she was appointed as a permanent co-host.
