Tannebaum joined WTHR after two years at WHNT in Huntsville, Ala., and three years at WTVY in Dothan, Ala., where she covered Alabama and Auburn, including four BCS and College Football Playoff National Championship games from 2013 to 2018.
She accomplished this as the station’s first female sports anchor. Dave Calabro took a chance on her because she was going to be a star, not because she was a woman. She covered four Indianapolis 500s. She covered numerous Indiana and Purdue games. She was in charge of the Colts. She was in charge of the Pacers.
She told stories about the Indiana Fever and high school girls athletes overcoming adversity and excelling that promoted equity.
She is now pursuing her dream on a national scale. She started on the ACC Network on Wednesday, where she will co-host “ACC PM” with Mark Packer and Tre Boston. Every weekday from 4 to 7 p.m., the show will air.
