Val’s talent as a host and interviewer helped ABC 7 win three prestigious Chicago Emmy Awards for special programming on bullying, breast cancer, and violence prevention in Chicago. She was nominated for another Emmy for her performance in ABC 7’s New Year’s Eve special, COUNTDOWN CHICAGO.
She contributes to ABC 7 Chicago programming and has co-hosted the annual Bud Billiken Parade and the Chicago Lights Festival.
Val understands the value of giving back to the community. She donates her time to a variety of charitable organizations in the Chicago area, including The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chicago Bulls Charities, and the South Suburban Family Shelter.
