He started off as a weekend sportscaster and reporter for WMGM-TV in Wildwood, New Jersey. Mehenti moved from the east coast to Des Moines, Iowa in 2001 to work as a weekend sportscaster for WOI-DT, where he stayed until 2005.
He spent six years as a sports anchor/reporter at Denver’s KDVR-TV (Fox) and KWGN-TV (CW) before joining ESPN. Prior to that, Mehenti worked as the weekend sports anchor at WOI-TV in West Des Moines, Iowa, where he wrote, edited, produced, shot video, and filed reports for two locally produced sports shows and several newscasts on the ABC affiliate for Central Iowa.
His first position after graduating from college was as a producer at WPIX-TV in New York for former CBS News correspondent Melinda Murphy. Prior to that, he worked as the weekend sportscaster at New Jersey’s WMGM-TV.
