Lauren Magiera is a well-known American journalist, she is currently working at WGN News as a sports anchor. She joined the station in 2016 and became the first female sports anchor. Before joining the station she worked at ABC Alaska KIMO.

Magiera joined WGN News from the Green Bay Packers, where she co-hosted a weekly 30-minute pre-game show with Packers Hall of Famer Larry McCarren. In addition to the pre-game show, Magiera wrote weekly feature stories, served as the field reporter at home games, and created online content for Packers.com.
Prior to joining the Green Bay Packers, Magiera worked for several radio stations as a sports reporter. Lauren joined ABC Alaska KIMO/FOX as sports director in 2008. Lauren joined NBC Alaska KTUU as a sports reporter after nearly two years with ABC. Lauren returned to the Midwest in 2012, taking a job as sports director-producer-reporter at ABC Wausau WAOW-TV in Wisconsin before moving to Green Bay.
Magiera, joined the WGN News team in April 2016 a Chicago native, as the station’s first female sports anchor and reporter.
