Based on Riordan’s book series of the same name, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is an American fantasy television series produced by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Rick Riordan forDisney+.Alongside Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, Walker Scobell plays the role of Percy Jackson in the film.
By May 2020, the show was under development after Riordan’s pitch to Disney Branded Television. In July 2021, Dan Shotz and Jonathan E. Steinberg were named showrunners, and in October of the same year, James Bobin was appointed to helm the first episode. Jeffries and Simhadri joined the cast in May 2022, with Scobell being cast in the lead role in January 2022.
There’s a Perseus “Percy” Jackson in the story, which takes place in the mid-2000s. The 12-year-old child discovers that he is the Greek deity Poseidon’s son. Poseidon never played with him as a youngster because after World War II, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades had vowed not to father any more children.
Because their progeny were too strong and could wreak enormous havoc (in the continuity of the universe, World War II was a conflict among their kids), the gods took that oath. As Percy discovers that his strength and demigod status put him in danger of being discovered by vicious creatures, he also finds out that Camp Half-Blood, a training facility located on Long Island, New York, is home to many demigods similar to him.
