She is the co-host of Good Day New York is Scotto. Since 1986, she has worked for WNYW-FOX 5 News. At Ted Turner’s UHF television station in Atlanta, WTBS, Scotto got her start in the industry as a reporter for two local shows and an associate producer of the evening newscast.
Early in the 1980s, she relocated back to New York and started working as a reporter for WABC’s “Good Morning New York,” which later changed its name to “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.”
After working for a year with “Good Morning New York” and “The Morning Show,” Scotto joined WABC-TV’s “Eyewitness News” as a correspondent, where she stayed until she joined FOX 5.
Her assignments have taken her to Israel, Rome, and all around the United States in addition to covering other significant stories in the tri-state region. The first exclusive interview with Diana Bianchi, the other party in the divorce of Christie Brinkley, the custody dispute between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, the infamous “Preppie Murder Trial,” and the trials of Joel Steinberg and the “Swiss Nanny” were among the many coveted assignments she won as a reporter.
Additionally, Scotto spearheaded the effort to get Marty Tankleff a new trial for FOX 5 News and was given an exclusive interview with him while in custody. For directing FOX 5 News at 10 and Good Day New York, Scotto has garnered four Emmy awards.
She is the recipient of three previous Associated Press First Place Awards, including two nominations for special Associated Press Awards, and the 1995 New York State Associated Press First Place Award for her piece “New York Survival Guide.”
